Our favorite social networking site has reached 500 million user milestone sometime this coming week. To make it big, will launch its “ Stories”. This is a memorial on how the social network changed people’s lives.

This great event was revealed in an interview with Facebook marketing guru Randi Zuckerberg last week. This interview was published in the All Things Digital’s BoomTown blog. It was said that while previous announcements of this nature has been about the numbers, this time, its all about the users who made the numbers.

Facebook Stories is actually another Website within Facebook. It will categorize the stories by location and theme. Themes that were already suggested were “finding love” and “natural disasters”.These stories were given a limited amount of characters just like the status character limit which is 420 characters.

Facebook has already posted a form through which you can submit your story. If it goes all popular – that if you get a number of “Likes” than anyone else – it will be featured in the popular stories page.

It has been 5 months since they reached the 400 million users. This time last year they had 200 million and 8 months before that it was just merely 100 million. Facebook hits our screens February 2004 and the rest, as they say, is history.
