An app that tweaks your social media experience has finally arrived to the iPad. Let me introduce to you the all-new app, Flipboard...

Infusing the elements of a motley cluster of social media sites and the unique browsing experience offered by magazines, arrives as an all-new application to the and dubs itself as the “world’s first .”

With its launching four days ago came the change of landscape in social media streaming. Now live feeds from Facebook and Twitter are laid out to imitate magazine contents: posts turn into articles, and multimedia into front-and-center. News from your favorite sources also appear on the interface. This experience is as simple as flipping the pages of your favorite glossy print. Flipboard picks and presents the most relevant stories for you.

Flipboard had two big announcements during its launch. First, the new app had a Series A round with Ashton Kutcher, Facebook co-creator Dustin Moskovitz, Twitter founder Jack Dorse, Index Ventures, The Chernin Group and KPCB that helped them raise up to $10.5 million.

The next big news was that it has acquired , “a real-time web intelligence startup”. Flipboard can utilize its semantic analysts technology, which can sort the feeds in order to arrive at the most relevant items that will show up on your screen. Co-founder Arthur van Hoff was made its CTO.

Watching your feeds pass by on your screen is definitely a way to go for Flipboard users. This app can now be purchased at the iPad store.

Flipboard became my favorite ipad application right away after I tried it the first time, it gives reading Tweets and Facebook posts a whole new dimension. The only thing that sucks right now is that new users need to wait for activation for days.
