Good thing, Google though of an idea: “Wouldn’t it be nice if you could call people directly on their phones?” Starting today, you can now call just any phone right from your ! According to ’s blog, calls to the US and Canada will be free of charge for the rest of 2010, and calls to other countries will cost for as little as $ 0.02 per minute.

How does it work? It’s easy! It’s like calling a normal phone. At the top of your Chat List, click “,” then dial a number or enter a contact’s name. This feature from Gmail is very useful, especially when you want to place a call when you’re in an area with bad reception. In the next few days, Gmail will be rolling out the new feature to US-based users, and they are working on to make it available to other customers.
