The new feature on Gmail was utilized by over 1 million users since the first day it was launched.

Calls from Gmail did not have a difficult time to attract users because last Thursday, the company tweeted this good news:

“Over 1,000,000 calls placed from Gmail in just 24 hours!”

If this will be compared to statistics, if the average person make 10 calls per day and there are 300 million people in the US, this means that one out of every 3,000 calls in the US went through Gmail inboxes.

This new feature enable users to place calls in the US and Canada for free while calls to other countries cost cheap charges. The UI used is Gmail and can be connected to Voice to receive calls.

Many are attracted to this new innovation since all you need to do is sign up for Gmail, Google Voice and install the chat plug-in. This definitely a step ahead for voice over Internet Protocol () realm.
