Google Introduces Apps Search

Ever wanted to search not only your e-mail, but your presentations, spreadsheets and documents? Not to worry, because Google is working on a project that will do just that.
Google is working on an experimental project to help users search not just their e-mail, but also their presentations, spreadsheets and documents. Google Apps Search is the newest feature from Google Labs, allowing users to extend their search to Google Docs and site results. The “Search Mail” button will turn to a “Search Mail and Docs” when you activate it. So whenever you perform a search through Gmail, it will display the 20 most recent e-mails with that query plus 20 related Google Docs or Sites. In addition to the universal search functionality, the feature also includes a “Did You Mean?” search suggestions. It functions the same way the Google Search does. Gmail is quickly becoming a destination for performing all of your searches, now that “Search the Web” is located directly to the right of “Search Mail and Docs.” If you already activated the new feature on your account, tell us what you think by leaving a comment.
