Wait no more for The Avengers is set to hit theaters on 2012.

It been ages and rumors were spread along every mouth. Comic fans had been thinking about it for so long. They had been wishing to make the comic book into a film. The has finally returned to the big screen. The wait is almost over.

During the Comic Con, it was announced that Mark Ruffalo will replace Edward Norton as the . The cast of the super hero mega hit is already complete. The film is to be directed by Joss Whedon and to hit the screens on 2012.

For a surprise promotion, Ruffalo was joined on stage by whoelse? The Avengers. The team includes:

Robert Downey Jr. (), Chris Evans (), Chris Hemsworth (), Scarlett Johansson (), Jeremy Renner () and Samuel L. Jackson ().

To follow up on the box-office hit Iron Man, is set to roll out Thor on May 2011 and captain America on July 2011. This is an effort to build the characters and get the momentum for the release of The Avengers.

“I’m not quite sure what Joss has in mind, but I’m sure they’ll find a way to make everyone kind of blend and have a role to play,” Evans told MTV News at the convention. “I don’t think anyone’s going to be carrying the load.”

Their archrival D.C. is watching Marvel with keen ineterst. Their release of Green Lantern, played by Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds is on slate by summer of 2011. The big question is, will D.C. make this movie unite with the characters from The Justice League of America?

Clark Gregg, who eventually plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson in both Iron Man and Thor films respectively acknowledged that in putting these heroes together there is a big challenge since Comic and Film are two different media.

“By casting the right people, by getting the right directors,” Gregg said when asked how to pull off the feat. “You know, I thought, ‘How are they going to make Thor feel real and feel like (he’s) from the same world as Tony Stark (Iron Man)?’ . . . and I was blown away.

“They keep on biting off (things) more daring and astonishing. So how do you bring all those guys into one movie? What kind of threat must be going on? How do you get those different personalities (together)?

The Avengers comic book was released in 1963. It has evolved all throughout the years. Let’s wait what the latest films has in store for us.
