Hear this, non-tweeting people who consume chunks of other people's tweets! Twitter will whet your appetite with yet another brand-new feature called "Fast Follow".

” allows non- users (should be US-based, as of now) to check out tweets via text messages. To use this feature, just text “follow [username]” to 40404–an assigned shortcode for . You will now receive the user’s microblogs in .

This seems to be a parallel growth strategy–we are thinking now of the ad platforms that Twitter is also rolling out to its developers–that includes advertising. The social media company anticipates non-users to “Try it out the next time you see a Twitter @username at a restaurant or store, on a billboard or on TV, or if you hear one mentioned on the radio.”

This SMS-alert type Twitter feature looks simple, yet it helps inactive users to stay up-to-date with their favorite users’ tweets without actually logging into an account.
