Forbes 400: Who Takes Home the Bacon this Year?

Forbes just released their annual issue of the 400 richest Americans. Who wants to be a billionaire "so freaking bad" like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin?

The magazine just released its annual list of the 400 richest Americans last Wednesday. Based on the list, the super-rich becomes richer despite the slow economy, as their net worth climbed to 8% this year. Though 217 members in the list find an increase of wealth, 85 out of the 400 enlisted luminaries saw a decline.

In the list, taking the top post yet again, is the Microsoft founder – – with an estimated fortune of $54 billion. Next on the list is the billionaire investor, , with a net worth of $40 billion. Taking the third spot is the Oracle CEO, , with $27 billion. Following him is , while members of her family take numbers seven to nine — thanks to Wal-Mart. With Charles and ’s fortune sky-rocket by $5.5 billion from 2009, they tied at the fifth notch with $21.5 billion each.

The New York City Mayor, , takes the tenth place with $18 billion worth of fortune. And carrying the largest increase of 245% over the year, is the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg that clocks in at number 35. Also from Facebook, is the youngest and one of the newest member in the list, Eduardo Saverin.

By contrast, Raj Rajaratman of Galleon Group is one notable drop off from the list. Rajaratman is also facing 185 years in prison.

According to Forbes, finance and investment industries continues to dominate the list despite the stumbling economy. In general, 55 members of the list are from finance, while 54 are from the investment sector.
