Bidding for GoDaddy.com is On

Internet domain name registrar GoDaddy.com is up for grabs for the price of more than a million bucks.

, a popular website which registers profitable Internet domain names is up for sale in an auction for a whopping $1 billion.

This news surfaced when were hired by Go Daddy Group Inc. to shop their company. There are already several private-equity firms that are in line to bid for the largest domain name registrar.

GoDaddy.com started in 1997 and is under the management of Bob Parsons. Aside from being known in the domain name industry, GoDaddy.com has also became popular for its edgy and naughty Super Bowl advertisements.

No official word yet from representatives of GoDaddy.com and Qatalyst Partners about this move. But many firms are attracted to the offer knowing the company has revenues of $750 million and $800 million in 2009.
