In Five Years–The Social Media

Then: The social media existed as minor communities in a web browser. Now: The social media has hit a universal status from across the web to mobile devices.
The rise of social media has changed technology’s climate so drastically our forecast says decline in intensity and density will not be felt for five more years, at the least.
A fearless forecast: The rise of the social media service pantheons–Facebook, Twitter and YouTube–has been progressive. But Internet investors, whose multiplication simulated with those of the social media, are looking forward to leveraging the three pantheons instead of conjuring the next big social network.
Drastic shifts should also be expected in the use of certain kinds of media, such as radio and television. A comparative shift to what happened with print at the turn of the millenium. The prevalence of proofs are in the consecutive releases of Blip.tv, Roku, Google TV and Apple TV.
The apparent trend goes by way of interconnectivity. The current appreciation for location sharing apps gives significant implications. That five years from now, we are still be treading the social media-blazed trails. Much of what we know today will serve as launchpad to what will happen in the future, only we will be surveying a more expanded field when that time comes.
