StatusNet Releases iPhone App

StatusNet released an iPhone app yesterday, enabling users to connect to their site via mobile. The app supports posts from an iPhone, sending attachments and following public, profile and friends’ timeline. It also connects users to multiple StatusNet site from within the app. It joins the company’s Android and desktop offerings, making it easier to enterprises, groups and individuals to stay in touch with their network.
Aside from a hosted version, the Twitter alternative also allows organizations to create their private network behind the company’s firewalls. In addition to or in lieu of email, communities that rely on social network for communications can find this StatusNet features imperative. With outages occurring earlier this year, Twitter is definitely not alone.
