If you're a Yahoo! user and would like to transfer to Google, don't mind about the hassle. Google just got an OpenID so you can make the switch in a presto!

With a new feature, is targeting ! users to sign up for a using a simple, one-click process. This gives the search engine giant an access to the user’s ! Mail and authenticates their identity, enabling them to explore Google’s web-based applications and services. It seems that the new OpenID significantly decreases the number of hindrances to increase their number of users.

So is Google declaring war against Yahoo? The short answer, yes. The long answer, no. With Yahoo! still bagging a huge number of internet users, especially in utilities like e-mail, search and news, Google will channel off as many Yahoo! users as it can for the said services. For a mass users to transfer in a simple way can be a threatening move, but that’s how the market works.

But this doesn’t mean that Google can and will annihilate Yahoo! as a company. The latter still dominates in areas such as dating and image hosting. In its simplified sense, while many Yahoo! users will welcome to have a Google account, this is almost inconceivably the end of the line for the company. This is not a death match declaration of some kind either. It just so happens that Google’s moves is half-good for user experience, and half playing nicely with others.
