Google Unleashes Product Listing Ads

Google AdWords is starting to go visual as the Product Listing Ads is rolling out in the United States. Say goodbye to the traditional text ads in once spartan Google search engine interface.

is now rolling out the to all of its advertisers in the United States. After testing it with selected advertisers for the past year, the format will make more visual. How? By simply enabling advertisers to list specific products with images. The Google represents a flight from its traditional text ads. And though some might argue that it is just a clutter, the results apparently speak for themselves.

A spokesperson from Inside AdWords stated that “people are twice as likely to click on a Product Listing Ad as they are to click on a standard text ad in the same location.”

The Product Listing Ads is already expanding to Google’s entire advertiser base, and it could mean more graphical ads in the search results. And with better returns for advertisers, the more revenue Google can take.
