Google Wave Turns Apache Wave

It’s official! Google Wave is now Apache Wave. Apache has now accepted that proposal, and Google is preparing for a few changes. Can Apache re-live Google Wave this time?

was released to the public in 2009. Unfortunately, the project saw a lackluster adoption. The development was officially stopped in August, and became an open-source code last September. Then a couple of weeks ago, made a proposal to the Software Foundation to take . According to the proposal, Google aims to migrate Wave’s code base to Apache’s infrastructure. With that, they are crossing their fingers that will return to an active development state. Google also noted that the project still had some notable users like the US Navy. Apache has accepted the proposal, and Google is preparing for some changes.
