Nintendo 3DS Game Watch: Top Ten Popular Games of 2011

Gadg knows how to start the year right so here is the list of the most exciting and most anticipated games for the coolest handheld device to date: the Nintendo 3DS.

The year 2011 is a much-awaited year for all the hardcore gamers. Why? is arriving in a few weeks time. Who wouldn’t get excited about THAT? But besides the much anticipated handheld console, the 3DS also has an impressive line-up of games that ought to keep us gamers drool over the new technology even more. Here’s a short list of the best games we’ll be getting next year. I already know what I’m gonna get, how about you?

1. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D – Capcom is adding up some kind of touch screen control system and RPG-ish character customization, and has also implemented first-person aiming for weapons. Director Kazuhisa Inoue said that this change allows players to experience the 3D visuals as if they were really present.

2. Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle - If you’ve wondered how the meticulous puzzle-solving “action” of the Professor Layton franchise would be bolstered by the 3DS’ extra dimension, check out the trailer of the game and judge it for yourself. To spoil you a bit, this time, things are pretty awesome.

3. The Penguins of Madagascar – The Penguins are back. This video game is based on the TV show The Penguins of Madagascar, which features the funny flock of penguins from the Madagascar film series.

4. Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet – “Every Marvel super hero is unique,” said the narrator of the Marvel Super Hero Squad: The infinity Gauntlet trailer. “But not all of them have the same super powers.” Sounds interesting, right?

5. Chocobo Racing 3D – The game will feature playable characters from both the Chocobo and Final Fantasy universes. Action packed racing stints for the fans of the game. Another smashing game for Square Enix.

6. Castlevania 3D – Feel the excitement as you journey with Dracula on 3DS. Prepare to hunt the vampires in an almost-real surroundings.

7. One Piece: Ultimate Cruise – From Bandai Namco, here’s another adventure from One Piece: Ultimate Cruise. The company didn’t reveal much about the game but the trailer tells it all. Join the pirates and their cruise in this ultimate adventure.

8. Naruto – Naruto is now on 3D. From the popular show now you can have in just a click of a button. It’s time to start another Naruto craze.

9. Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom - A sequel to the blockbuster hit, Kung Fu Panda. Po’s new life is threatened by the emergence of a formidable villain, who plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu.

10. Puss ’N Boots – Remember the cute and cuddly cat from Shrek? Now he’s gonna bring the puffy eyes on 3DS. Puss ‘N Boots will make its debut on 3DS on 2011.
