After waiting for almost half a year for chance to taste the world of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, finally, players are getting a free demo. This time without the special passes, restrictions and limits.

After its release five months ago, finally, II: Wings of Liberty got a demo.

Before this surprising announcement, the only way to get glimpse of Star Craft is nabbing a “guest pass.” The said “guest pass” provides limited access to the game. These passes come in short quantities for those who purchased SCII and Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft. Those who got the keys can use them or share them with friends. These passes require a Battle.net account and though they can provide access to most part of the game, still, time is limited.

The released free demo removes the restrictions. Player deosn’t have to acquire a Battle.net account. Meaning, the game can be played offline. Time restriction is no longer in place, so player can play the demo as long as the player wants. As for the actual content of the demo, the player will be able to play the first three missions of the campaign as well as solo skirmish, though only Terran vs. Terran is available.
