The Top Ten Must-See Movies of 2011

Today marks the start of the 12th month of the year. Meaning, there will be just four more weeks and it is the new year! As an early holiday present, AllWeLike unwrapped the upcoming blockbuster hits of 2011.

Avid moviegoers have a lot to look forward to this 2011. A wide array of must-watch films are lining up as early as now. AllWeLike  gives you a sneak peek of the next attractions in 2011. Check out the list and mark the you will not want to miss.

1. – Captain Jack Sparrow comes back in the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean. But this time, people won’t be seeing Kierra Knightly and Orlando Bloom. Both of them expressed the desire for a career change. The film will be under the direction of Rob Marshall. Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides is based on the award-winning book by Tim Powers.

2. – The second part of the finale is set for 2011. On July 15, 2011, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will debut to theaters. You can’t miss this out since this will be Harry Potter and friends’ last adventure at Hogwarts.

3. – DC Comics will enter the 2011 box office and battles Marvel with the release of Green Lantern under Warner Brothers. The movie will star Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris.

4. - The box-office success of Marvel’s superheroes are unrelenting. After Spiderman, Iron Man and Wolverine occupied the top spot, Marvel planned to release Thor. This will be his first journey to the silver screen after some time. Thor will be played by actor Chris Hemsworth (George Kirk in the Star Trek (2009) and supporting cast that includes veteran actress Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury). The Mighty Thor is schedule to hit movie theaters in May of 2011.

5. – The first avenger will debut on May 6th, 2011. This will serve as the leader for Movie including all from Marvell. Joe Johnston will direct the movie while Samuel L. Jackson has signed in to play the role of Nick Fury. The movie’s plot revolves around a scrawny World War II soldier who was injected with the Super Soldier Formula. This will make him an amazing fighter and he’ll take on the Germans under the name Captain America. Eventually, he’ll be frozen in time and decades later he’ll fight supervillains as a part of the league of super heroes known as .

6. – The Hobbit is rumored to kick off in theaters on New Year’s Eve, 2011.Based from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit serves as the prequel of the series. Under the production of Peter Jackson and the direction of Guillermo Del Toro, The Hobbit will allow viewers to enter the world of Bilbo Baggins. Once more, LOTR fans will get to see the White Wizard, Gandalf the Great and Gollum.

7. – Another superhero that won the hearts of the masses, Spider-Man 4 is said to hit the silver screen on May 31st. This is the continuation of the series of adventures of Peter Parker. However, there is no assurance if Toby Maguire will still be wearing the red suit or not. Villains were not yet revealed, but most likely its the The Vulture and The Lizard.

8. The Avengers – The above movies are all good, but this one is the most anticipated of all. Said to release on July 15th, 2011, the film will let us enjoy the exploits of The Avengers. It stars Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle. The rest is still not revealed to the public. The members of The Avengers include: Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man, Capatin America, Ant Man and The Wasp.

9. – A film by Terry Gilliam, this one started filming in 2000, but stopped its production after a series of on-set accidents. In 2009, the pre-production started again. It revolves around a British ad executive who travels through time and gets himself involved in the adventures of Don Quixote. Johnny Depp signed in for the role, so expect a big hit out of it.

10. – Jim Carrey is signed up to star in this film about a man who became famous for scouring the world for human oddities. Along the way, he realizes these special people deserve just as much respect as anyone else. Director Chris Columbus will helm this heartwarming tale.
