Mom and dad, should your child begs for a Nintendo 3DS, have enough guts to say ‘No’. There are findings that say Nintendo 3DS is not child-friendly.

In case your kiddo is insisting you to get a 3DS, better drop early the ‘No’ word. A Japanese website stated that children under six years old are prone to developmental eye problems which can be an effect of prolong 3DS play.

However, there are solutions to this problem. The 3DS comes with a switch to render graphics back in 2D; the type of viewing that is generally safe for everyone. It is also advisable to take a break at 30 minutes interval while playing.

Back in June 2010, Nintendo of America president already addressed this issue. “We will recommend that very young children not look at 3D images. That’s because, [in] young children, the muscles for the eyes are not fully formed.”
