“By exposing accounts that you and another user have in common, you will now know how those accounts are connected to other accounts you already follow. As a result, you’ll be able to make more informed decisions about which accounts to follow.” ---Carolyn Penner, Twitter

bids goodbye to its “Followed By” and “You Both Follow” features into another area similar to —Connections.

This new feature allows users to see what they have in common with other Twitter users. Individual features goes expandable allowing you to see complete lists of mutual follows and the people you both follow by clicking “more”.

Twitter’s Carolyn Penner has some explanation on this new permanent change on the network:

“By exposing accounts that you and another user have in common, you will now know how those accounts are connected to other accounts you already follow. As a result, you’ll be able to make more informed decisions about which accounts to follow.”

As you notice, Twitter took some time tweaking their connections due to the fact that the concept of “friend” versus “follower” is more difficult to apply to their system.
