YouTube Teams up with Facebook and Twitter with ‘fflick’

Last week, Google acquired the startup . The main reason behind the move? Social Networking.

The “fflick” startup is designed to aggregate conversations regarding videos happening on both and . Google confirmed that they purchased fflick with the reason that:

“The fflick team will help us build features to connect you with the great videos talked about all over the web, and surface the best of those conversations for you to participate in,” according to Shiva Rajaraman, the group product manager.

The entry states that there are more than 400 tweets per 60 seconds containing YouTube links and Facebook users watch more that 150 years’ worth of YouTube flicks.

Fflick was formed in 2010 by former Digg employees.
