Introducing the Google +1

Think Facebook's 'Like' button was cool? Check out Google's own version, the +1.
Have you ever tried searching in Google while you’re logged on your Google account lately? Noticed anything different? Anything at all? Oh, there we go. What’s that small +1 icon under the search results? Well good netizen, that’s Google’s new feature that’s recently been integrated to the search engine behemoth: Google +1.
The Google +1 is a (relatively) new way of telling which search results are interesting to you and your circle of friends by giving a +1 to the website. The more +1’s a website has, the bigger the chance that it will appear in you or your friends’ top search results, provided they’re under the same search query.
So in a nutshell, it’s Facebook’s ‘like’ button, Reddit’s ‘+1,’ Digg’s ‘dugg,’ and StumbleUpon’s ‘Stumble and like’ feature. Except the Google +1 is backed up by the mother of all web, Google.
