is one of the most favorite sport in the world next to basketball. For one thing, it’s one of the most exciting sport ever discovered. Bloody and fulfilling. George Foreman once said:

“Boxing is like jazz. The better it is, the less people appreciate it.”

The video games pertaining boxing tournaments have definitely come a long way since ’s Punch Out!! Yet, common presumptions say that the industry is a dying breed. However, EA Sports enliven the old flame in the ringside and revamping the old game. They’ve come up of a new game that will make us punch for more —. The FNC started breeding in famous gaming platforms Xbox 360 and PS3. However, as the world evolves, we started discovering smarter gaming consoles, for this we have the iPhone. Since its too heavy to carry your Xbox or PS3, you’ve yearned for a more handy dandy that doubles and triples as a sound engine and mobile phone. EA Sports saw the need for an app and voila! debuts to your iOS devices.

The Game Structure

Okay so, with the iPhone app we’re no longer in speaking terms with consoles. We’re looking at touch-sensitive controls but the epic battle still continues. The “Legacy” feature is still amazing than ever. Punching opponents maybe a little overwhelming but in the long run you’ll still find the touch-battle inevitable.

The Making of a Legacy

In the Legacy mode of the game, you’ll be rebuilding a boxer out of the game’s 20-man real life roster. If the character you’re aiming to create has some more precise personality, you need not to worry. You can still create one from scratch. Customize his appearance, fighting styles and other attributes.

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!

In this case, we’re thinking of calling Freddie Roach. But no need, your fighter knows his business. Your champ will start lining-up fights with some glass jaws at the local gym before going pro and aiming for the belt. Along the way towards the ring side, you can customize training methods based on a risk-reward system. It actually correlates attribute improvements with some chance of injury.

Ringside Mechanics

One of the flaws that we can point out in this game is the game control and lack of depth to the moves available. If you’re aiming for a good nice punch, just tap and swipe and voila, your heading for some bloody competition. But the game isn’t purely on the defensive side, some offense moves are also required. Aside from the mechanics, timing is essential. Just like in the real battle ground.

Unanimous, KO or Draw?

Overall damage and stamina loss can also result into a knock out. Just like in the real game, you have to know what skill to use. You’ll be finding it hard to score a KO on the earlier rounds, so don’t get disappointed when isn’t following your desired way of win. Don’t let your guard down, because your opponents will make you feel sorry that you did. We’re having a bit of a challenge due to some artificial intelligence present here.

The graphics are well coordinated for a game. Especially if you’re using retina display. The sound effects are good and not really annoying in most games. EA threw in some well-constructed physics engine allowing animations as smooth as Ali himself.

Champion or Not?

The Fight Night Champion wears the golden belt. It’s good and we’re looking forward into an addicting game. Plus, you don’t get to wait a year or two for the next ring-fight, Fight Night Champion provides you these battles with ease. Especially when it’s reasonably priced at $4.99 only! Sure there are flaws to complain about, but the accomplishments is also quite good.

The are getting better as each day passes and the Fight Night Champion is one of the games we shouldn’t miss. What are you waiting for? Grab it here now.
