Sony’s Virtual Cherry Blossoms Help Raise Funds for Japan

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has come up with in-game virtual items that players can purchase to help the victims of the recent calamities in Japan.

For every purchase of a virtual Cherry Blossoms from March 25 to 28, SOE will donate $10 to the American in assistance to relief efforts in Japan.

The Cherry Blossoms will be available through an in-game marketplace in select SOE games. Alternative items can also be purchased in Magic: The Gathering-Tactics, Star Wars Galaxies and PoxNora.

To date, Corporation has donated $3.6 million to it native country.
