FBI Arrests Online Poker Sites

If you're ready to show your cards at PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker or Absolute Poker, FBI just got their domains down.

Federal Bureau of Investigation shuts down three sites, replacing their web page with an indictment notice last Friday. Although there have been renewed efforts for legalization, it remains illegal in the US.

That said, authorities unsealed indictments against the officials of Full Tilt Poker, and . This indictment comes in accusation of illegal gambling, money laundering and bank fraud. In addition to these, also filed a civil lawsuit in search for the forfeiture of ill-gotten gains from money laundering that amounts to $3 billion.

According to the FBI notice, the three sites had masked payments from players, misrepresenting the kind of funds being processed by the US banks. Hence, PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker have announced that they’re ceasing their US operations, but will remain business as usual outside the country. More over, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker moves to a .eu domain.

As for their players, their funds are safe and they will be able to withdraw their money.
