Apple’s Retail Store 2.0 Launches with Interactive iPad Displays

New Apple retail stores are now making use of interactive iPad displays to provide product information, pricing and features.

In commemoration of ’s 10th retail store anniversary, the company has launched its last Sunday. The whole overhaul added stationary placed next to other Apple products. The devices display product prices, information and features. The can also be used to compare models and ask for help from a specialist.

The touchscreen tablets appear to be running on a custom software, since touching its home button does nothing. The new in-house iPads were set to be rolled out with Apple’s proprietary retail software — .

All We Like reported last week that Apple scheduled a retail meeting last Sunday, allowing many speculations to spark. It turns out that the company set overnight shifts for retail employees in preparation for the updates of the Apple store. It has also taken the Order Status page from its website offline yesterday in order to perform a system update.

There is also a recent report claiming that Apple will update its Apple Store retail app for iOS this weekend. The iteration will add full build-to-order purchasing options to the application.
