A handset covered in gold, need us to say more?

is not letting competitors win in the smartphone war. The Finland-based company unveils its latest armor—a gold plated handset.

Some parts of (Spanish word for gold) is plated with 18-carat gold and has sapphire crystal as Home button. The rest of its body is covered with a leather cover that came from “one of Scotland’s finest Caledonian herds”.

It is a C7 phone, runs Symbian OS, and has 8MP camera and 720p video recording. But yeah, you can forget about the features because this phone will call everybody’s attention.

Nokia has the nicest thing to say about the Oro:

“The Nokia Oro is a device that’s clearly intended for someone who doesn’t want their mobile device to look the same as other people’s. The main markets for this sort of device are the Middle East and Russia, where they have been best-sellers for some time.”

The sophisticated device will go on sale later this year at the price of €800 or around $1,100.
