Hello, World. Goodbye, Bin Laden.

Just a few moments after the announcement that Osama Bin Laden has been killed in a U.S. Military operation, users have started checking in to “a world in which the founder no longer exists.” Search for “Osama” on New York, and check-ins will show locations like “Osamapacolypse 2011” and “Osama bin gonathon.”

Meanwhile, Bin Laden’s killing also made Internet traffic sky-rocketed, as the world started responding on the Al-Qaeda leader’s death through the social media. People have Tweeted, updated Facebook status message and even uploaded videos on YouTube, apparently celebrating.

News on Bin Laden’s death first leaked on in a post by Keith Urbahn, chief of staff for former US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

“So I’m told by a reputable person they have killed . Hot damn.”
