After the reports on the Foxconn plant explosion last week, another employee was found dead and more labor concerns emerged.

reported that a third died due to injuries from the explosion last May 20 inside an factory. It also has been announced that 15 others were injured, and six of them had already been released from the hospital.

The company is currently investigating the cause of the accident, but said that the initial findings revealed that “the accident was caused by an explosion of combustible dust in a duct.” Foxconn also added that the combustible dust originated in “one of the polishing workshops at our company’s Hongfujin Precision Electronics (Chengdu) Co. Ltd. facility in Chengdu.”

According to M.I.C. Gadget, all production has been brought to a stand still, but the company expects for operations to resume on Tuesday. They also reported that the Chinese government in Chengdu has taken over the plant, and took measures censoring the information flow to the extent that even local newspapers aren’t reporting about it.

To stop the suicide trend at the company’s Shenzhen-based iPad plant last year, Foxconn gave the workers raises. However, the employers still needs to increase the production capacity to meet the growing demand. The new factory was built accordingly, in a record-breaking 70 days, to accommodate the insatiable demand for the iPad 2.

That said, would you be willing to pay some extra for an iPad as assurance to those workers who manufactured it were labouring in secured condition, paid fair wages and not driven to suicide?
