San Francisco Police, to Carry Cameras

Robocop or no Robocop, policemen are now also making use of technology to enforce law and order.
The San Francisco police will now use video cameras to record arrests to help mitigate police misconduct. Police Chief, Greg Suhr, has ordered the city police department to test several cameras during arrests that involve search warrants or consent, as well as drug busts. These cameras are likely to be small and hands-free.
The San Francisco Examiner reports that more and more local criminal defense attorneys have been using police footage to show police abuse of power. The department will be using devices that are inexpensive in terms of price, use and maintenance. And if it works in the state, people can expect to see it implemented to other cities in the near future.
Police departments in Austin, Texas; San Jose, California; and Whitsunday, Australia already have tested the same devices as well.
