Pulse has 4 million users and raised $9 million

Social and visual news reader application for Pulse, is celebrating two major milestones Thursday. It currently has four million users across all its mobile platforms and raised $9 million in Series A funding.

In the past six months, the ’s applications have drastically popped. ’s interaction design is what the 10-person team has been focused on . This has then rewarded with a placement in ’s Store Hall of Fame.

Because of this, investors were apparently enthusiastic to participate in the financing round. Pulse went for (NEA), Greycroft Partners and Lerer Ventures.

Pulse co-founder Akshay Kothari says about the company’s selections, “More than the money, it was the opportunity to work with three terrific firms that are all complimentary.” He adds, “Alan [Patricof] and Ken [Lerer] were part of the original team who financed the Huffington Post, and we look forward to leveraging the insight they gained from building a new paradigm in news.”
