Rumor: Apple, Working on a New Charging Method for 2012 iPhone

Apple is planning to update its 6th-generation iPhone with a new charging method.

Earlier reports coming from The disclosed that is working on a smaller and lighter , which will be released in September. Now, the sources released another news claiming that the company is planning to add some advanced features to its next-generation that may include a “new way of charging” the device.

Investors expect a bigger boost to Apple’s phone business next year. People briefed on Apple’s plans said the company is planning a major iPhone revamp then, with one person saying the company has been experimenting with features such as a new way of charging the phone.

Though the journal has not provided further details on how Apple will be able to execute these so-called new charging mechanisms, it is assumed that the company will be using induction charging, or some wireless systems in order for them to create a cable-free iPhone device by 2012.

Also included on the Wall Street Journal’s report, Apple is finding ways to produce a much cheaper iPhone yet still offers new features, such as an edge-to-edge screen.

Apple has also been working on a less-expensive phone with new features such as an edge-to-edge screen, according to this person.

Meanwhile, up to now, the exact release date of the rumored iPhone nano – a smaller iPhone – hasn’t been announced yet.
