Acer Iconia Smart, Finally Arriving in September

The much-awaited Android smartphone from Acer will finally hit the shelves in September.
At last, Acer had finally set a launching date for their Gingerbread-powered handset: The Iconia Smart. The manufacturer recently announced that the device is slated to be released sometime in September. Acer remains silent with regards to details of such delays, but some reports claimed that the Japan earthquake has been one of the reasons behind the issue. Meanwhile, those products – that have been believed to be affected by the said earthquake – did not face any problems in terms of production.
The Acer Iconia Smart, as leaked out, will be sporting a 1024×480 resolution with a measurement of 4.8 inches. The handset will also run on Android 2.3 and 1GHz processor, with advanced features such as an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera.
According to FCC’s documents, the device is suggested to have its first landing in North America, however the launching date stays undisclosed until now. Meanwhile, the Acer Germany’s official Facebook unveiled that the European version of the Smart will be retailed for a €499 or $700 USD.
