Facebook, Planning to Release Instagram-like Photo Filters
Facebook is looking forward to challenging Instagram through releasing a dozen of dominant Photo Filters.
According to a report from the New York Times, Facebook is planning to outrun Instagram through adding new photo filters into its mobile applications. The social giant is indeed trying to enter the world of phone art photography after having a failed attempt to acquire the Instagram app.
Two Facebook engineers have just confirmed that there are already few Instagram-like photo filters slated for a release. However, its launching date still remains undisclosed. The report also states that Mark Zuckerberg, the site’s founder and CEO, is urging engineers and artists “to create more filters before releasing the new product”. “Facebook will also try to introduce new styles of filters with the hopes of drawing users away from other photo apps.”
Perhaps this would not be the first time that Facebook attempted to roll out photo filters. Last June, the social site has been reported to work on a spin-off photo-sharing app, especially designed for the iPhone. Based from the screenshots provided by TechCrunch, the said application features “location elements, likes and comments, multi-picture mode, filters, multi-user albums, face-tagging, and more.”
As of now, Instagram co-founder – Kevin Systrom – gives no words with regards to Facebook’s plans of acquiring their services. Facebook representatives also remained silent about this matter.View Article Source »
