RUMOR: Google, to Release Nexus Prime with Android 4.0 in October

Google might launch its third self-branded Android phone earlier than expected. Make way to Google's Nexus Prime!

Earlier reports coming from   have claimed that , ’s upcoming 4G smartphone with , will be slated for a release sometime in October 2011. Sources have disclosed that the original report came from a Korean site named, , which also unveiled most of the handset’s features.

Based from Electronic Times, the Nexus Prime is said to be the first smartphone to run on the Android 4.0 operating system, or also known as “”. Manufactured by , Google’s next-gen handset will be sporting a 4.5-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.5 gigahertz CPU, and a TI OMAP 4460.

Although these specs have not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer, some rumors claimed that Nexus Prime would also include a 4G radio, and an NFC radio which is already present in other high-end Android phones.

If this report will be proven true, then it would just mean that Samsung will be likely to release two competitive Android smartphones in the market this coming fall. The first phone is the anticipated Galaxy S II, which is slated to hit the shelves on Aug. 29; and the other one is the Google Nexus Prime.
