Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg, had converted his 5 million fans on his Facebook page into subscribers for his personal account.

, the co-founder, had accumulated more than 5 million subscribers — all because of a simple trick.

Facebook had rolled out a called on Wednesday, which enables a user to follow anybody’s public updates despite whether or not they are Facebook friends. This one-way subscription model is like following someone on Twitter or adding someone to a Google+ Circle.

Even though several users are worried about their privacy, many others are using it to subscribe to others — particularly Mark Zuckerberg. The said Facebook CEO is amassing subscribers at high speed. Since Wednesday, Mark Zuckerberg has acquired more than 5 million subscribers and it’s still increasing.

However, there’s a caveat to this feature. Five million people didn’t suddenly decide to start subscribing to the Facebook CEO’s feed. Instead, Mark Zuckerberg shifted his fans from his old Facebook page into subscribers of his personal page. A cached version of his fan page shows that he had 5,203,153 fans just before he made the said move.

Some believe that the number will continue to rise, as Facebook transfers the rest of Mark Zuckerberg’s fans to his personal account and new people starts subscribing to him. The said social network has been converting many fan pages into subscribers in the previous days and plans to launch a do-it-yourself conversion tool in the next few weeks.
