"Timeline is the story of your life" --- Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO

CEO, , announced a brand-new feature at last Thursday’s Developer Conference called the “Timeline.” It is a visual representation of all your social activities. According to the young CEO, Timeline changes the way Facebook shows users’ information. It presents “all your stories, all your apps, and a new way to express who you are,” he clearly stated. “It’s a way to tell all the important stories from your life on a single page.”

Timeline features new additional sections: Visual tiles, ways to get all your apps, a cover photo, and ways to “express who you are.” To be more exact, the latest Facebook UI presents all users’ stories in the bottom left side of the page. On the right side, there is a Timeline that wraps up all status posts from different points. And lastly, there will be a cover photo where you can “express who you are.”

As you scroll down past your cover, you’ll see your posts, photos and life events as they happened in time. You choose what’s featured on your timeline. You can star your favorites to double their size or hide things altogether.

Moreover, in Timeline, you can easily see all the things that were shared recently. You can even click on a specific year, and it will instantly navigate on that year. Years will also be boiled down into months, where you will be given the option to add photos or notes. There’s a private activity log too! This section allows you to see everything that you have done on Facebook since the first day of joining.

As stated on F8, the new Timeline UI will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
