New Planet Alert: Kepler Exoplanets Discovered by NASA

Could there really be a planet out there which is suitable for life?
NASA published in their journal Nature on Tuesday a study which revealed the discovery of the Kepler-20e and Kepler-20f. These two are exoplanets, meaning these are positioned outside the Solar System. The sizes of these Kepler Exoplanets are very similar to planet Earth and also orbit around a star like the Sun.
Francois Fressin, the lead author of the study, said that it was a significant milestone. “It demonstrates for the first time that Earth-sized planets exist around other stars, and secondly that we are now able to detect them,” he added.
The discovery was made using the Kepler spacecraft. This is a space telescope which works to find planets which could support life.
