Moon dressed in orange hue was spotted by people from around the world.

The dramatic phenomenon was seen by people in Australia, Western Pacific and East Asia. Unfortunately, no one in Britain was able to observe it because of the cloudy skies.

Forecasters predicted that between 2.06pm and 2.58pm, the northernmost tip of UK will have a 50 percent chance of seeing the Earth, Sun and Moon fall in line.

A total takes place when the full Moon moves towards the Earth’s shadow. Though the moon becomes dimmed, it is still lit by the sunlight that passes through the Earth’s atmosphere. And as it moves into the umbra, or the darkest part of the shadow, the Moon assumes a gray or red color. It is because more light from the Sun passes through our planet’s atmosphere.
