US First Lady Michelle Obama Joins Twitter

In support of her husband’s reelection campaign, Michelle Obama learns to express herself in 140 characters.
The First Lady’s first tweet stated the obvious:
“We’re excited today to launch @michelleobama as a new way for you to connect with First Lady Michelle Obama and the President’s campaign.”
Even though the account is managed by the Obama;s campaign staff, it will still feature personal tweets from the First Lady herself. Her special messages will be signed with “-mo,” which is the counterpart signature used by President Obama, “-bo.”
The first non-campaign tweet by Mrs. Obama reads:
“Here’s something dear to my heart: the MLK Day of Service,” reads the fifth tweet sent by the account. “Will you join me to serve your community on Monday? http://OFA.BO/NTYQkR -mo”
The link directs to MLKDay.org, a website encouraging people to serve their communities on Monday, January 16 in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
