Comcast to Launch Netflix Competitor

Comcast will soon launch a streaming-video service that will rival market-leader Netflix.

Philadelphia-based cable operation, Comcast Corp revealed on Tuesday that it will soon launch its own streaming-video service.

Xfinity Streampix, the new service which will give existing Comcast customers an access to a selection of television show ‘reruns’ and old movies which will be available over the web.

This streaming-video service will be offered for free on ‘certain tiers of Comcast video service’ and will be available for $4.99 for other Comcast video customers, cheaper compared to Netflix, which offers a similar type of service for $7.99 per month.
