Google Replaces Android Market, Intros Google Play

Google replaces Android Market with Google Play, a cloud-based platform that offers music, movies, books and apps.
Google has replaced the Android Market with a cloud-based platform that consolidates its music, movies, books and apps under a new brand called “Google Play”.
This new platform unifies Google’s entertainment brands such as the Android Market, Google Music and Google eBookstore and makes it all available to a single hub. Google’s books, music and video apps will be branded as Play Books, Play Music and Play Movies respectively.
To celebrate its launch, Google will have a promotional “7 Days to Play” sale that will offer ‘discounted apps, books, movies and music throughout the week’.
Google Play is now available for devices running Android 2.2 or higher.
