75-Year Old grandmother from Maryland, Ernestine Shepherd, is now the world’s oldest bodybuilder

, a 75-year-old grandmother from Baltimore, Maryland, proves that it’s never too late to get fit.

Shepherd, the world’s oldest bodybuilder started hitting the gym at the age of 71. She starts her day with a 10-mile jog at 2:30 AM and hits the gym to train her clients and to maintain her chiseled physique.

Her daily 1,700-calorie diet consists of egg whites in the morning, vegetables, chicken and brown rice. Her workouts also consists of a mix of pushups, pull-ups and a heavy regimen of free weights.

This buffed grandma claims that ever since she started her healthy regimen, she has kept away from depression, high blood pressure, panic attacks, and acid reflux, which she suffered from when she was in her 50’s.

Shepherd said in an interview that she feels younger than ever:

“Age ain’t nothing but a number, I feel younger now than I did 20 years ago.”

“If there was ever an anti-aging pill, I would call it exercise.”

Her trainer, Yohnnie Shambourger, a 57-year-old former Mr Universe, is impressed with her ability to lift weights at her age and said that it is not due to hard work alone:

“It’s a combination of commitment and genetic gifts. Ernestine has both, or she wouldn’t have gotten as far as she has.”
