Google celebrates what would have been the 100th birthday of cartoonist Charles Addams.

The eccentric artwork in today’s Google Doodle was from the ’60s comedy TV series The Addams Family. This doodle was made to honor its creator, Charles Addams, on what would have been his 100th birthday.

Artist Charles Addams was born on January 7, 1912 in New Jersey. He brought to life the Addams family in 1938. The cartoon regularly appeared in The New Yorker before it was made into a TV series which run from 1964 to 1966. It was only in the TV series that characters had names like Gomez and Morticia Adams plus Uncle Fester.

Each of the characters interacts with the letters in the word “Google” and when you click it on the main search page, search results for Charles Addams appear.
