Paramount becomes the first movie distributor to directly sell UltraViolet movies.

is the first to directly sell movies, a new ‘cloud-based’ content distribution system which allows you to watch digital copies of films using ‘multiple platforms and devices’.

This new platform was first introduced as a package deal that comes with the DVD or discs but thanks to Paramount, customers can now stream the movie without having to purchase the physical format first.

Customers can now purchase movies on Paramount’s site which can be streamed and viewed live. Prices start at $13 for the standard definition and $20 for the HD version.

Amazon UK kicked off pre-orders for Sony's PlayStation Vita, ahead of its release date.

Amazon seemingly revealed Sony PlayStation Vita’s release date and UK price, as it makes the portable game console up for pre-order ahead of its New Year Eve’s arrival. But while Amazon UK opened PS Vita for pre-order without concrete delivery date, its US counterpart suggests that it will be available starting December 31.

In relation to this, Amazon UK cites that the WiFi + 3G edition of PlayStation Vita will cost £279.99. The WiFi only device, on the other hand, lands at £229.99. Sony’s upcoming portable game console will feature quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, 5-inch OLED touchscreen display, front and rear mounted cameras, touch sensitive back plates, and the usual array of PlayStation controls.

Amazon.com is in the process of testing out a redesign for its retail site.

Recent reports revealed that just started a testing for its retail website — a possible signal for its new ’s arrival.

The Wall Street Journal confirmed that the tests began last week and will continue to be kicked off to more customers, though the date of its full launching remained undisclosed. The revamped design now gets a cleaner interface with more lighter space and larger search box. The manufacturer also announced that the redesigned site will be featuring new applications, digital games, ebooks, and MP3 songs.

Rumors have claimed that this redesigning issue might mark the launching of a tablet-optimized site. Amazon finally intros its new tablet computer which will be launched in October. The said device will be produced in order to compete with Apple’s iPad, and also to help its own digital content store in marketing their music, movies, and other content.

Entering the tablet market would probably be a hard battle for Amazon, knowing that Apple has been the leader of tablet sales — with 19.5 million worth of devices that were sold since the iPad launching last year.

Though the company had not yet revealed some features of the upcoming tablet, few reports have leaked out that it will be a nine-inch screened tab running on Google’s Android platform. The new Amazon tablet would not feature any camera, unlike the iPad 2, but will be available in a pricing that is much affordable — making it the best choice over other tablets in the market.
