Apple has removed a “gay cure” app from the App store after over 146,000 people signed a petition against the said app.

According to app’s creator, Exodus International, its main objective was to “provide support for individuals who want to recover from homosexuality.”

A report from Mashable.com says that “the activist organization Truth Wins Out and Change.org, the platform used to launch the petition, praised Apple for removing the app from the App Store.”

“Apple made a wise and responsible decision to dump an offensive app that demonized gay and lesbian people,” said Wayne Besen, executive director of Truth Wins Out.

Last year, Apple also removed an anti-homosexual app after 7,000 people inked a Change.org petition, demanding for its removal.

The new version of Foursquare for iPhone revitalizes your experience to find the hottest hangouts. With this innovation, Foursquare smashed Facebook Places right on the face.

Just when Facebook Places stepped into the spotlight, Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley quickly came with a label to this, something like “generic”. He also promised a new iPhone app that would be the “Instapaper for the real world.” So now guys, make way, Version 2.0 is here.

The newest version emphasizes tips and to-Dos, now split-up and with a prominent placement on the app’s bottom navigation. The emphasis is not on the application in particular. Foursquare connects the web discovery and mobile activity.

The main goal is simple, encourage users to look at Foursquare as an easy saver of the places they want to visit, store activities and lead them on clicking “Add to My Foursquare” button.

Napster, at long last, is Now on iPhone

Written on September 21, 2010 by B Waldorf

After refusing to make an app last year for Apple devices, Napster had seen the possibility at last.

The once revolutionized service for music sharing, commonly known as Napster is available in Apple. Just released today, Napster became available for our beloved iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

It offers a 10 million full-length songs for a subscription fee of $10 per month. You can also listen to songs while offline as long as you never forget to pay the monthly fee. Features include creating playlists, save songs, albums and playlists. Save the last 100 songs you played and check out new releases, recommendations and the Billboard charts as far as 1955.

Ironically speaking, the men behind Napster did say that they have no plans on releasing an app for Apple or any mobile devices because of the “high licensing fees for streaming to a mobile phone.” Rhapsody and Spotify overcame the obstacles and it seems that Napster realized these too.

The iOS Napster app is now ready for download at iTunes.

Steve Jobs keeps his conservative side intact by launching Playboy App without Playmates shedding the clothes. Will users like it that way?

It’s always present in teenage films, hidden under the bed to conceal it from the knowledge of the adults. Playboy magazine played a special part in every man’s growing years. Aside from the hot bodies splattered on the magazine, it also features interviews of celebrities plus articles which helps boys to become better boyfriends to their girlfriends. And Hugh Hefner is not letting Playboy be forgotten by the new generation. He recently tweeted this exciting news:

Playboy will be available on iPad without the Playmates. Steve Jobs has a thing about nudity.

But wait, it’s Playboy without the Playmates? It’s like ice cream sundae without the hot fudge. You can tell it on Playboy’s founder tweet that he is disappointed as well. Steve Jobs has some explaining to do with regards to this decision.

Would you buy the Playboy app without seeing some flesh?
