“[The deal with Apple] has the potential to bring a great new shopping destination to iconic Grand Central Terminal and significantly increase revenues for the MTA’s transportation system.” –New York MTA

Apple sealed the deal with New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to build an Apple Store in a 23,000-square-foot at the main terminal at Grand Central. This will be the largest Apple store to date. It will occupy the space that currently leased by Metrazur restaurant. According to New York Post, Apple will pay $800,000 annually for rental fees. The contact is valid for 10 years and in the event Apple decided to renew their contract in 2021, the rent will increase to more than $1 million.

“[The deal with Apple] has the potential to bring a great new shopping destination to iconic Grand Central Terminal and significantly increase revenues for the MTA’s transportation system,” the MTA shared in a statement.
