ArcSight Sold to HP for $1.5 Billion

After several months of negotiation, Hewlett-Packard Co. buys software-maker ArcSight.
Hewlett-Packard Co, is closing the deal with security software maker ArcSight Inc. with the amount of $1.5 billion. This is part of the spending spree the company is doing after the resignation of Chief Executive Mark Hurd a month ago.
This move is a clear sign of the trend becoming popular nowadays, that is bigger companies purchasing smaller ones. A way for huge companies to safeguard their product portfolio.
ArcSight shares ended last Monday at $43.91, a raise of 70% premium since its starting price a month ago. The company is maker of softwares which protect corporation against hackers.
