AUO Unveils Solar Laptop Keyboard

Logitech's not the only company working on solar-powered keyboards anymore. AUO is also in for solar-powered keyboard that promises to lower power usage by up to 20 percent.

Solar-powered device is not always popular. In fact, other people find it a disadvantage rather than something useful and eco-friendly. But it did not stop AUO from producing a solar-powered keyboard. The company recently introduced a 14-inch solar-powered touch keyboard for netbooks. According to AUO, by building a solar module into a laptop’s lid and keyboard can lower its power usage by up to 20 percent. There are no release date and price available yet, but it was reported that the solar-powered keyboard will make an appearance at the FPD International 2010, on November 10 in Chiba, Japan.
