Twitter Announced Web Analytics

With the acquisition of BackType, website owners can now track site traffic coming from Twitter with the new Twitter Web Analytics.
BackType founder, Christopher Golda, announced last Tuesday via Twitter’s developer blog the micro-blogging site’s new feature — the Twitter Web Analytics. The new feature will aid website owners to understand how much traffic they receive from Twitter, and the effectiveness of its integration to their sites. The Twitter Web Analytics was driven by the acquisition of BackType last July.
Twitter Web Analytics provides three key benefits:
* Understand how much your website content is being shared across the Twitter network
* See the amount of traffic Twitter sends to your site
* Measure the effectiveness of your Tweet Button integration
This week, Twitter Web Analytics will be rolled out to a small pilot group of partners. In relation to this, it will be available to all website owners in the coming weeks. The micro-blogging site is also committed to a releasing an API for developers interested in incorporating Twitter data in their products.
