"I’m going to propose ways to put America back to work that both parties can agree to." --- Pres. Barrack Obama

Last Monday, Pres. Barrack Obama celebrated the Labor Day with the union members and their families in a political swing state. He promised to make job-creation measures to reduce unemployment to nine percent. He would also propose “a new way forward on jobs” in his speech on Thursday to a joint Congress session.

However, Barrack Obama did not give further details, though he said that millions of unemployed construction workers would be able “to get dirty” under his infrastructure proposals. Nevertheless, he faces high expectations after recent evidence that job growth has stalled.

But other than infrastructure proposals, Pres. Obama also indicated that he will call for extending and expanding temporary tax cuts for business and individuals — including payroll tax cuts.

A conversation on Twitter revealed that President Obama used Twitter to get the Senators and Congressmen to come to an agreement for the debt ceiling.

A White House aide stated during a Twitter conversation on Sunday night that the micro-blogging site influenced the upcoming result of the agreement on the U.S. debt ceiling. The said conversation is between Brian Stelter, a reporter from The New York Times, and Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director.

The House and Senate are expected to vote on the debt ceiling bill on today.

President Obama asked people to tweet their congressmen Friday to persuade them to come to an agreement on setting the debt ceiling with the hashtag #compromise. Then his staff spent a day tweeting out names of Republican legislator from every state of US. Due to the said move, the @BarackObama account lost 36,000 followers. However this new information might indicate it may have been worth it.

Following the said conversation, members of the Congress also took the opportunity to fire back to the president using Twitter.

United States of America's Congress are debating on how to reduce their nation's international debts, and to come up with a decision to use the taxes for reduction.

On Thursday, top lawmakers are expected to debate one of the biggest obstacle in the way of the debt-reduction deal that would allow the United Sates to continue borrowing at rock bottom rates — taxes.

US Vice President, Joe Biden, and six lawmakers will meet for a sixth time to talk about the growing external pressure for them the Congress to raise the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline. However, bond markets remain calm while investors are increasingly alarmed that the Congress will be unsuccessful to act before that date.

President Barrack Obama and his family earned almost $2 million for 2010, which is about two-thirds less than their 2009's gross income.

President Barrack Obama and his family reported an adjusted gross income of $1,728,096 for 2010. That is about two-thirds less than their almost $5 million earnings in 2009. In addition to this, The Obamas paid $453,770 for federal taxes and donated 14% of their income to various charities — including Fisher House Foundation.

President Barrack Obama earns $400,000 for his day job. His paycheck was much bigger, because his books – Dreams from My Father, The Audacity of Hope, and Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters – still register strong sales. The US president is donating the proceeds from his Of Thee I Sing to Fisher House Foundation’s scholarship fund for children of fallen and disabled soldiers.

President Barrack Obama said in his speech last week that top earners, including himself, should pay higher taxes.
